Section 1 - Certificates and Other Records of Achievement

This section describes the documents given to students when they complete senior secondary schooling. This is generally at the end of Year 12, although some systems may issue documents earlier.

The documents serve one or more of the following purposes:

  • certify that a set program of study has been completed (certificate);

  • list subjects studied;

  • show results;

  • provide information relevant to selection for higher education

  1. What award does the certification body in each State or Territory issue to students on successful completion of study in Years 11 and 12?

  2. What must students do to be awarded the senior secondary school leaving credential in each State or Territory?

  3. Which document(s) lists the subjects/courses studied in Year 11 and/or Year 12?

  4. What advice is given relating to tertiary selection?

  5. Who issues this?
