How are the marks determined in the senior secondary school credentialling program in Western Australia?

For Tertiary Entrance Examination subjects, schools implement an assessment program that meets the requirements of the Assessment Structure published by the Curriculum Council for each subject.

Marks achieved by each student on tasks included in the assessment program are tallied at the end of the year and submitted (as percentage) to Curriculum Council. The school applies Grade-related Descriptors to identify numerical cut-off points for each grade.

For Wholly School-assessed Subjects, schools implement an assessment program that meets the requirements of the Common Assessment Framework published for each subject. Achievement is rated by using published Performance Criteria and a grade is calculated by application of an algorithm.
