Sustains communication through the exchange of relevant information and ideas expressed accurately and fluently using correct intonation and pronunciation with possible minor inaccuracies. Demonstrates an extensive knowledge and understanding of vocabulary, idiom, colloquialisms, grammar and syntax. Demonstrates an ability to use various text types proficiently and to structure and sequence ideas and information effectively and coherently. Uses Modern Hebrew accurately and creatively to communicate a range of ideas and opinions appropriate to audience, purpose and context. Demonstrates a comprehensive global understanding of spoken and written texts and the ability to identify specific detail by summarising and interpreting ideas and information.
Band 5  (67.74%)
Sustains communication through the exchange of relevant information and ideas expressed appropriately but with occasional hesitation and error. Demonstrates a good knowledge of language structures, vocabulary, idiom, colloquialisms, grammar and syntax. Demonstrates an ability to use various text types competently and to structure and sequence ideas and information effectively and coherently. Uses Modern Hebrew accurately to communicate a range of ideas and opinions appropriate to audience, purpose and context. Demonstrates a good global understanding of spoken and written texts and the ability to identify most specific detail by summarising and interpreting ideas and information.
Band 4  (6.45%)
Exchanges a limited range of relevant information and ideas but with some hesitation and error. Demonstrates an adequate knowledge of language structures and text types, vocabulary, idiom, grammar and syntax. Demonstrates the ability to organise and express most ideas reasonably in Modern Hebrew but with a number of weaknesses in sequencing, linking and grammar. Conveys information with some regard to audience, purpose and context. Demonstrates a sound global understanding of spoken and written text and identifies some relevant information.
Band 3
Communicates using simple sentences with frequent hesitations and errors in language structures, vocabulary, grammar and syntax. Communicates with some dependence on anglicisms and English syntax. Demonstrates a basic command of spoken and written Modern Hebrew with frequent inaccuracies in language structures and text types, vocabulary and spelling. Demonstrates limited ability to structure and link ideas. Demonstrates a basic global understanding of written and spoken texts and the ability to identify some detail.
Band 2
Communicates using single, well-rehearsed phrases or with recourse to English vocabulary and syntax resulting in a laboured communication. Demonstrates a poor understanding of Modern Hebrew with errors in language structures, vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation. Identifies isolated and often irrelevant detail with little or no global understanding of written and spoken texts.
Band 1
A mark in this band indicates that the student has achieved below the minimum standard expected.
