Naoko Miyamoto
Naoko completed 3 Unit Music at St Andrews Cathedral School as an accelerated student. She is now concentrating on the remainder of her Higher School Certificate. She began piano lessons at two and started violin lessons at four. She made her first appearance as a soloist with an orchestra at the age of eight, playing Bach's Concerto for Two Violins with the Sydney Youth Orchestra. Since then she has appeared in numerous performances in Australia and overseas. She was a prizewinner at the Kloster-Schontal International Violin Competition in Germany and attained her L.Mus.A with a Distinction She also won the National Youth Concerto Competition in Queensland and the Senior and junior sections of the Ku-Ring-Gai Concerto Competition. She was named the 2MBS-FM Young Performer of the Year 1999. Naoko would like to become an international artist, travelling the world and playing with orchestras and in recitals. Naoko is joined tonight by Nicole Vasilakis (violin) and Ross Hamilton (piano).
