Matt Smith
Matt Smith received his first guitar at the age of eight and began tuition at ten. It was during his HSC studies that he developed an interest in jazz, which he is now studying at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music. Matt played in the school concert band throughout high school, and in 2001 he played guitar at the Schools Spectacular. Matt also plays in a jazz band that does gigs in Wollongong. He is interested in sound engineering and would like to pursue a career as a professional guitarist. Matt is accompanied by Carl Alwert (double bass), Nick Garbett (trumpet), Alex Masso (drums) and Nick Southcott (piano).
