Joel Lasschuit
Trinity Grammar School
Joel attended Trinity Grammar School on a full music scholarship and won many school music awards. He completed his AMusA in clarinet performance by the age of 16 and plans to continue working towards his LMusA. Joel would like to acknowledge the encouragement and support of Mark Scott, his clarinet teacher, Phil Pratt and Robert Prevo, Directors of Music at Trinity, and composer Dr Paul Stanhope, who gave Joel the confidence to compose Stromlo Inferno, which was also nominated for ENCORE. In February 2004, Joel was invited to perform at the Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the 2003 Higher School Certificate. Joel has begun his study of medicine while continuing to tutor school students and hopes one day to be a children’s doctor. He is accompanied by Cathy Davis on piano.
