Anton Lock
Conservatorium High School
Anton has been playing drums and percussion since the age of ten. He has since taken up saxophone. In 2000 he moved to Sydney to study percussion at the Conservatorium High School and, through the school, met his current mentors: percussion teacher Iian Scottland and taiko teacher Ian Cleworth. In 2003, Anton began an apprenticeship on the taiko drums with TaikOz and is currently touring Australia with the group. He hopes to further his study of the instrument in Japan. Anton has won first prize in the senior timpani section of the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod and first prize in senior composition at the Conservatorium High School. His fellow taiko drummers are Ian Cleworth and Kerryn Joyce.
