Robert Vasey

Robert Vasey’s only formal musical training has been the completion of Step 1 of the AMEB’s Contemporary Popular Music Syllabus and the completion of the HSC Music 1 course at Great Lakes College. He has, however, been playing acoustic drums since the age of 12, before which time he studied the piano. In 2002 Robert won the Taree District Headliner Drum Challenge. In the same year he took up the electronic V-drums and he has since become fascinated by the application of new technologies to contemporary music, particularly in the areas of fusion and progressive rock. His immediate ambition is to become a versatile performer, composer and producer in the modern idiom. He commences a Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at Southern Cross University this year.
