Sujata Allan
Armidale High School
Sujata started playing violin at the age of five and has attained her AMusA
in violin and 8th grade on piano. Winning numerous awards at the Armidale Eisteddfod,
Sujata also won the Gould League competition for composition in 2001 and 2003.
In addition to her school studies, Sujata plays the piano accordion and violin
in a band called ‘The Gypsy Hot Club’. The group has recorded 2 CDs
and performed at the Woodford Folk Festival, the National Folk Festival and the
Bellingen Global Carnival. Already teaching the violin, Sujata hopes to further
explore a range of music styles as she continues performing and composing in
the future. Rock Hopping is performed by Sujata and Jhana Allan.
