Indako Clarke
MLC Burwood
Indako has attained AMEB Grade 8 on piano and Grade 6 on flute. She has been involved in many musical ensembles since she was seven and in 2000 she received first place in The Flute Society of NSW Flute Eisteddfod (Flute Ensemble). She went on to receive second place the following year. In 2004 she was appointed Head Chorister and directed the school musical Bright Lights on Broadway. She also received the Director of Music Award in the same year. Although unsure about her future aspirations, Indako is certain that ‘my life will always have music in it’. The Asian influenced works of contemporary Australian composers Ross Edwards and Anne Boyd inspired Indako’s composition. It is atmospheric in its depiction of Bamboo in Rain and is performed by Jenny Stephenson (flute) and Josh Hill (vibraphone).
