Nan Heo
Conservatorium High School
Nan began playing the piano when she was three and moved onto the violin at
seven. She received a distinction in ABRSM Grade 7 at the age of twelve and attained
Grade 8 the following year. Since arriving in Australia in 2001, Nan has studied
with Prof. Peter Zhang and has participated in master classes with professional
musicians such as Dr. Walter Verdehr and Michael Goldschlager. She received the
Rueben F. Scarf Memorial Foundation Award for Commitment and completed the accelerated
Harmony courses at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She has held the position
of Concert Master of the Conservatorium High School Orchestra and has also received
tuition from famous musicians Goetz Richter and Nicholas Milton. Nan hopes to
continue her studies in music and become a professional violinist. She is accompanied
on piano by Jeanell Carrigan.
