Aimee Nguyen

Aimee plays both the violin and piano, having attained both her AMusA in violin and her LMusA in piano the same year (2003). She has also achieved 7th Grade musicianship with honours and is currently studying piano with Natalie Sheludiakova and violin with Alex Todicescu. In 2003, Aimee was a state finalist in the Yamaha Australian Youth Piano Competition and performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.1 as a soloist with the Sydney Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. As a member of the MLC Senior Chamber Orchestra, she has toured Europe, Italy and Scandinavia and has been studying composition under the tutelage of Paul Stanhope for the past two years. Last year saw her win the Open Age Sir David Martin Memorial Award for Chamber Music with her piano trio. She is joined in performance by trio members Giselle Kenny (cello) and Kelly Tang (violin 2), along with Bobby Dimitrievski (clarinet) and Kristy Nguyen (viola).
