New update – Motorised Markbook v6.5.6 (Windows) now available

The following update (version 6.5.6 for Windows) is free to all owners of Motorised Markbook version 6.0.

If you or your institution are registered owners of Motorised Markbook v6.0 (that is, you have faxed or posted the Network Licence registration card in the pack back to us), email us at and we will email back the web-password to enable you to retrieve the update.

Motorised Markbook Version 6.5 Update

The following is a summary of the fixes and improvements that have been added progressively to version 6.0 that are in version 6.5.6.

  1. If you had more than 12 tests in your markbook and tried to create a REMARK column the program would not create one. Now fixed.

  2. A problem surfaced where incorrect SORTING of marks was taking place if you had more than 12 tests in your markbook and your current position was in the 12th column or greater. Now fixed.

  3. The Scatter Graph did not always display all the marks when there were decimal scores. Now fixed.

  4. Ranking a class with decimal marks with "Show Whole Marks" active gave a ranking based on the decimal marks instead of whole marks. Now fixed.

  5. Changed Oasis import to include Student ID and OASIS Class code and keep these values when the class is rolled over as REMARK columns. (This is a stage one change to allow Student IDs to be stored and exported to the BOS for HSC and SC grades). (The Macintosh version now also has an import OASIS Classes menu option.

  6. Epson printing problems solved for Windows version of the Markbook. Markbook will now print to all the new Epson Stylus and Photo Stylus printer models series 700+.

  7. Fixed and enhanced the Attendance Printouts for Landscape to fit a full term on one page.

  8. Improved the portability of files between the Macintosh and Windows versions of Motorised Markbook.

  9. In the SPECIAL menu, 4 new EXPORT options have been added;
    a) Export selected classes and tests as a TAB file.
    b) Export selected classes and tests as a CSV file.
    c) Export selected classes and Test to Denbigh Report system.
    d) Export ALL classes and tests as a TAB file.

  10. Cut/Copy/Paste and changing a students class via the CHANGE menu option now takes students LINKED test marks with them to the new class.

    11. 16. Network administrators can set the default loading and saving path by creating a text file called mmb.txt and placing it in the WINDOWS directory of EACH workstation. Simply put the path name only on the first line of the file for example F:\TEACHER\DATA and save it as "mmb.txt".

  11. A graphic button bar has now been added for easy access to common features.

  12. A new Test menu option has been added to "Rename Linked Tests" to allow for easier handling of links. Simply place the cursor on a linked test, select the menu option, enter a new name and ALL linked tests will be renamed.

  13. A new installer now allows Desktop Icons to be created to launch the Markbook.

  14. When using "ADD Tests" or "ADD Weighted Tests" scaling options, you are given the option to enter a test name for the new test, which is particularly helpful when dealing with linked tests.

  15. Storing Weighted tests beyond column 12 sometimes caused an error, this now works as expected.

Changes made – Versions 6.01- 6-03

  • Fixed error for printing assigned grades in printmbook, was printing Est instead of E

  • Fixed Scatter Graph problem of missed top mark

  • Linked Moderate fixed, crashed with array overflow error

  • Fixed overwrite NEW markbook problem, now checks if exists

  • Fixed weighted & add test problem for students with no marks

  • Fixed scatter graph class position problem

  • Fixed save/load crashes to illegal drives

  • Fixed OASIS import option, linefeed vs return problem

  • Fixed weighted test problem, had a divide by zero error

  • Fixed the problem where system settings are set to larger fonts causing some requesters to not display values in editfields

  • Fixed an error where the last 2 students get cut off a Markbook Page Printout

  • Fixed print requester "Pages from and to", used to show 6540 pages

  • Fixed export problem. You can now export when no tests are selected
