Principal:
Beverly Hills Public School is a NSW Government
public school. We have about 460 students in our school, and 87 per cent of
those come from a non-English-speaking background. We've always put great
emphasis on student welfare programs. The challenge after Premier Iemma's
announcement about the Respect and Responsibility program has been to refresh
and refocus our programs to meet the needs of our current society.
Student 1:
Respect is knowing how others feel and how you
think they would like it if they were treated some way.
Student 2:
Responsibility would probably be acting your age
and doing what's asked of you.
Student 3:
In a society and in a school of many different
cultures you need respect and responsibility to be kind and trustworthy so that
school's a better place.
Student 4:
If people learn how to respect and be
responsible, I think the world would be a better place.
