Learning Plus - Helping Others to Achieve Their Goals

Learning Plus is an umbrella term to cover a range of projects where Goulburn High School students lead and participate in community projects. Students use their talents and abilities to help others to achieve their goals. The Learning Plus program includes the projects described below.

Students share their knowledge and expertise with partner primary schools, taking on the role of coaches, trainers, facilitators, assistants and leaders across a wide range of academic, sporting, citizenship and cultural programs.

A Red Cross Youth Challenge team works in the community, again often with primary schools.

The Goulburn Student Leadership Centre, facilitated by Goulburn High School, delivers leadership and citizenship programs with a focus on the middle Years.

The School Developed BOS Endorsed Stage 5 Course: Personal Development/Social Development (Leadership and Citizenship) course involves students actively in their community. It includes a significant component of community service and community projects requiring students to put their knowledge, skills and expertise to use in a real world setting.

The Duke of Edinburgh Scheme has been operating for 31 years at Goulburn High School. It includes a component on community service.

Themes of leadership, team work and community values run through all aspects of the projects.
