Summary of Changes to the Automotive Curriculum Framework (March 2009)

Due to the continuous improvement of training packages a new version of the Automotive Industry Retail Service and Repair Training Package has been released (AUR05v2).

As a result the Board of Studies has added some units of competency to the Stage 6 Automotive Curriculum Framework (2007) and has amended Part A and B of the Syllabus to incorporate the changes to the Training Package. These changes do not affect the examinable units of competency.

Additional units of competency

Eight new units of competency have been added to the Automotive Curriculum Framework as outlined below. These units of competency can be accessed from the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05) or from www.ntis.gov.au.

The following units of competency have been added as electives to the Automotive (240 indicative hours) course – Table 3 (p 22*) and the Automotive School-based Apprenticeship (240 indicative hours) course – Table 7 (p 113*).
