Community and Family Studies (CAFS) Stage 6 Syllabus (2016)

This course provides students with the opportunity to develop their understanding of the diverse nature and interdependence of families and communities within Australian society. It helps students to plan and manage resources effectively in order to address contemporary issues facing families and communities.

Year 12 school-based assessment in 2024

In recognition of continuing school disruption, NESA has extended the 2023 flexibility for school-based assessment rules to Year 12 students undertaking the HSC in 2024. These changes affect the published Assessment and Reporting requirements. Please ensure you follow the school-based assessment advice for the 2024 HSC.

Amendments to the CAFS and CAFS Life Skills Stage 6 syllabuses

The HSC Core: Groups in Context has been amended for the 2024 HSC Exam and onwards. The syllabuses have also been amended to reflect updated LGBTQIA+ naming conventions.
