Information regarding the HSC examination in Engineering Studies from 2013

Decisions made by the Board of Studies in December 2010 have resulted in changes to the Engineering Studies examination specifications in 2013 and beyond.

The 2013 examination will have a similar format and structure as past Engineering Studies HSC examinations. The new format includes 20 objective response-type questions in Section I and seven short-answer questions in Section II. There will be approximately 25 items in total and at least two items will be worth from 6 to 8 marks.

Working through past HSC examinations would continue to be a valuable part of a student’s preparation program for the 2013 HSC examination in this course. The nature, format and particular emphasis of questions may change from year to year. It is important that students read and respond to the questions in examinations rather than prepare a response to a preconceived idea of what the question will entail.

More details about the examination, and information about assessment components and weightings are in Assessment and Reporting in Engineering Studies Stage 6 (PDF 153KB).
