Release of results
Wednesday 17 December 2008 – HSC results will be available after 6 am. See the Step-by-step instructions for getting your results.
Friday 19 December 2008 – You will receive a summary of your HSC results in the mail.
Tuesday 13 January 2009 – You will receive your HSC award documents in the mail.
HSC Examination Inquiry Centre – 13 11 12
The Board of Studies HSC Examination Inquiry Centre will be available to answer any queries you may have about your HSC results. The telephone number is 13 11 12. The cost of an Inquiry Centre call is 25 cents wherever you call from in NSW. You cannot call the Inquiry Centre from a mobile phone.
The Inquiry Centre will be open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm during the following periods:
- Wednesday 17 December – Friday 19 December 2008
- Monday 22 December – Tuesday 23 December 2008
- Wednesday 24 December 2008 (9.00 am – 12.00 noon)
- Monday 29 December – Tuesday 30 December 2008
- Wednesday 31 December 2008 (9.00 am – 12.00 noon)
- Friday 2 January 2009
Student Survey
The Board of Studies is interested in knowing your views on several aspects of the HSC. The Student Survey will be available through Students Online from 5.00 pm on Thursday 13 November until Friday 5 December 2008. The survey is voluntary but your responses would be appreciated. If you complete the survey you could win a University Co-op Bookshop voucher worth $50.

Important information about your privacy
The Office of the Board of Studies will provide the personal details and results of all NSW students to the Technical Committee on Scaling – the committee that calculates your University Admissions Index (UAI) on behalf of the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) – and to UAC and TAFE NSW. In addition, your principal and some approved officials from the school system to which your school belongs (the Department of Education and Training, the Catholic Education Commission or the Association of Independent Schools) will also have access to your results.
In addition, the media will receive the name, number, school and course(s) of all students who achieve an HSC mark in the top band in any course. The Office of the Board of Studies will not provide the media with the names or the results of any other students. If you do not wish your details to be provided to the media for them to print, please write to Student Records, Office of the Board of Studies, GPO Box 5300, Sydney 2001 before 3 December 2007. In this circumstance, you will not be eligible to be placed on a merit list or receive associated prizes.
