Identifies ONE type of security technology for a small retail services company/store 1

Sample answer:

Two types of security technology are mirrors and electronic article surveillance (EAS). Both are suitable for a small outlet as they are easy to install and maintain. They are also cost effective in the long term compared to alarm systems and video surveillance which require constant monitoring.

Mirrors and EAS are fixed types of security technology but can be moved if the layout of the store changes. They differ in that mirrors are passive deterrents to assist staff in detecting theft whilst EAS, which uses security tags that produce a loud noise when theft is detected is an active deterrent.
