HSC Rules and Procedures Guide for students

HSC students will receive a copy of the HSC Rules and Procedures Guide when they start their HSC study, outlining important information about HSC enrolment, assessment, exams, results and the consequences of breaking these rules.

Exam equipment list

There are certain pieces of equipment you can and can't take into each different exam. Black pen is preferable for all exams and mobile phones are absolutely not allowed. See also the list of approved calculators.

Practical and performance exams

NESA provides for performance exams or submitted works and projects for Dance, Design and Technology, Drama, English Extension 2, Industrial Technology, Music, Society and Culture, Textiles and Design and Visual Arts. Each must be certified by the student, class teacher and principal.

Illness/misadventure appeals

If a student becomes ill or suffer an accident that affects their exam performance, they should submit an illness/misadventure application form (available at the exam centre) through the principal and notify the Presiding Officer when entering the exam or as soon as possible. Visit the illness/misadventure page to find more information.
