List of Registered Non-government Schools in New South Wales
Alphabetic index of Registered Non-government Schools
The list of registered non-government schools provides information about registered and accredited non–government schools in New South Wales.
The Education Act 1990 ('the Act') sets the requirements for registered and accredited non–government schools in NSW.
Under the Act, the Board of Studies is responsible for monitoring the compliance of non–government schools with the registration and accreditation requirements of the Act.
The requirements are detailed in the Board's Registered and Accredited Individual Non–government Schools (NSW) Manual and the Registration Systems and Member Non–government Schools (NSW) Manual.
Registration is a non-government school's licence to operate under the Act.
Registration is for one or more Years of schooling, from Kindergarten to Year 12, or, in the case of a school providing for students of a kind as prescribed by the regulations of the Act, registration as a school of a kind (for students with special education needs or students who are, or are the children of, foreign nationals).
Accreditation authorises a non-government school to present candidates for the award of the Record of School Achievement and/or Higher School Certificate.
A non-government school may be registered and accredited, if relevant, for renewable periods of up to five years.
The list of non-government schools identifies the registration status of each school in the following terms:
| Registered | registered for up to five years |
| Initial | first period of registration is limited to one year |
| Extension | extended period of registration in order for the school to address concerns about an area of compliance |
| Provisional | reduced period of registration in order for the school to address concerns about an area of compliance |

| Accredited | accredited for up to five years |
| Initial | first period of accreditation is limited to one year |
| Extension | extended period of accreditation in order to address concerns about an area of compliance |
| Provisional | reduced period of accreditation to address concerns about an area of compliance |
